Proceedings of Sync '95
The IEEE Workshop on
Multimedia Synchronization (Sync '95)
Friday, May 19, 1995, Tysons Corner, Virginia
Held in conjunction with the
2nd IEEE International Conference on
Multimedia Computing and Systems (ICMCS)
Introduction
This one-day workshop is intended to bring together researchers and
practitioners interested in all aspects of multimedia synchronization.
Over the last few years, this topic has received considerable research
attention while remaining a topic perceived as both trivial and
non-trivial. This situation is due, in part, to the development of
individual solutions to many subproblems that exist in multimedia
computing. For example, the synchronization problem for video
communications often addressed independently from that of multimedia
authoring.
Our objectives are to develop a common language and perspective on the
various aspects of multimedia synchronization, to try to integrate
efforts in the various fields, and to identify open avenues for
research.
